When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, company name, phone number, and business address. This information is necessary to operate your shipping account.

Shipping Data

When you create shipments, we collect sender and recipient names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, package dimensions, weights, declared values, and item descriptions. This data is required by FedEx and customs authorities to process international shipments.

Shopify Store Data

If you connect a Shopify store, we access order details including customer names, shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, product information, and order values. We use this data solely to fulfill shipping orders on your behalf.

Payment Information

Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We only store transaction references and payment confirmation IDs.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal information to:

Create and manage your ShipAnywhere account
Generate FedEx shipping labels and customs documents
Schedule FedEx pickups for your packages
Fulfill Shopify orders and sync tracking numbers
Process payments through Stripe
Communicate with you about your shipments and account
Comply with legal obligations including customs and export regulations

3. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the following parties, and only as necessary to provide our services:

FedEx — Sender and recipient details, package information, and customs declarations are transmitted to FedEx to create shipments, generate labels, and process customs clearance.
Stripe — Payment information is sent to Stripe to process transactions. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
Shopify — If you connect a Shopify store, fulfillment status and tracking numbers are synced back to Shopify.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Shipment records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes. When you disconnect a Shopify store, the associated store access token is deleted. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@shipanywhere.io.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit)
Database connections are encrypted
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
API keys and secrets are stored as environment variables, never in code
Access to admin functions is restricted by role-based authentication

6. Shopify Merchant Data

For merchants who install ShipAnywhereConnect from the Shopify App Store:

We access only the minimum data required to provide shipping services
Customer personal data (names, addresses, phones, emails) is used exclusively for generating shipping labels and customs documents
We do not use merchant or customer data for marketing, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to shipping fulfillment
We respect and comply with customer consent decisions and opt-out requests
Merchants can disconnect their store at any time, which revokes our access

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
Withdraw consent for data processing
Export your data in a machine-readable format
